Those who think positive attract success and good fortune
A rude friend teaches me a powerful lesson

The power of positive thinking has been a life approach taught down the ages. The Bible is one example of the many religious writings which advocate a positive mental attitude.
Those who choose to think and act positive exude a magnetic energy that attracts success and good fortune. But the daily battle to keep positive is exacerbated by the continual bombardment of negativity from the world around us.

But if we are to achieve success it's essential that we achieve an on going positive approach, and a wonderful way that I have learned to do this is to understand the function of opposites. Opposites are a defining mechanism. We only know cold because we have hot. We only know good because we have bad. We only have light because we know dark.

In this fashion we can only define ourselves at a higher note, if we have a lower note to measure it against. By thinking in this way it becomes easier to use all the seemingly useless negativity that swirls around us for positive good.

I had a classic case of this a while back on a visit out of town. I was staying with friends whose hospitality I found lacking, in fact downright rude. At first I got mad, and then I realised that their behaviour was merely a chance for me to choose more clearly, who I was, and how I wished to behave. Why, I realised, should my behaviour become bad just because theirs was?

From that moment I held fast to my own choices, saying quietly to myself 'I express myself at the highest level of possibility in this moment'. Suddenly I felt in a peaceful space where I could be gracious, and kind and patient - all because I'd changed my framework of thinking. What could have been a disappointing and infuriating experience tuned into a wonderfully enlightening one, and another victory for the power of positive thought.

Every second of every day, every moment of every circumstances is merely an opportunity for you to define yourself anew. To choose a great model of yourself, you need bad model to show you the way. This week, live life in style - go positive. To help you, here's one of my favourite sayings, author unknown.

Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words Keep your words positive, because your words become your actions Keep your actions positive, because your actions become your habits Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your lifestyle Keep your lifestyle positive, because your lifestyle become your destiny
